The Embassy of Switzerland in Japan located in Tokyo is seeking a qualified candidate for a full-time position as Officer for its Science & Technology Office (50%) and Administration Officer (50%).
As the official representation of Switzerland, the Embassy of Switzerland in Japan covers all matters concerning diplomatic relations between the two countries. It represents Swiss interests in the areas of political, economic and financial affairs, legal arrangements, science, education and culture.
Beginning of employment
- September 2024 or upon agreement
Duties and responsibilities
- Back Office tasks for operations office and STO such as correspondence and translations, processing of documents, administrative tasks, hotel reservations, delegations, mailings
- Support delegations from Switzerland to Japan
- Support projects organized by the STO and Embassy
- Report about Japanese education, science and innovation policies
- Contribute to the team in implementing Switzerland's international strategy in the areas of education, research and innovation in Japan in close cooperation with the Head of STO

対象・条件
- University graduate (BA or MA) with affinity for science, technology, education, research and innovation in an international setting. A degree in natural science or engineering a plus but not a must.
- Native Japanese (mother tongue) and fluency in written and spoken English. Swiss national language skills are a plus but not a must.
- Full computer literacy in Microsoft Office. Experience in working with social media and video- conferencing is an advantage.
- Proactive, able to multitask and pay attention to details.
- Very good organisational skills.
- Motivated team player and critical thinker.
- Knowledge of the education, research and innovation system in Switzerland and/or Japan is a plus
- Valid work permit in Japan
